HELLOPIKE x DHP = KAIJU SPRAY NOSTALGIA APALALA

Long time toynerdfriend, painter and fellow collector Hellopike has done it again. This time Apalala has received a more "traditional" Japanese makeover. Rooted in the early days of kaiju, almost no detailing was done via paintbrush on this run and all of the beauty has come to life with airbrush sprays. White vinyl covered in metallic red, gold, silver and black sprays make this colorway a real stunner. There is a 1/1 chase version that will be sold at random with the same color palette done on a GID vinyl base. Each toy comes with an clear red vinyl with gold glitter Alavaka dorje omake to make this release even more special. Available May 11 in the webshop. $130 each.

Going real old school with this post. Every so often I'm asked about lyrics to AFTeRSHOCK songs so I thought I'd do something cool. Remember when you had to buy things in the mail via magazine ads or catalogs? Remember the days of SASE and sending cash for stickers? DHP @ KAIJU CULT SHOW

TRIP HOP FROM DAYS GONE BY

Found this old tune I made with a friend 8 years ago. He had a HUGE digital synth set up and I took some of his sounds and composed everything into some beats. I still dig it.

VALENTINES DAY 2019 "BE MINE" APALALA (+ JIZO) AND SHIRAHAMA x DHP WOLFPACK

You may think you've seen this release before via the BE MINE Apalala from 2017, but this time around there's something new. This unpainted neon pink Apalala features orange glass eyes and glows orange when the lights are out. 2019 also brings a Valentine partner in a Jizo-Anarcho OMAKE. These will hit the webshop on Valentine's Day (Feb 14th) and will be priced at $130 each.

Riding hot off the heels of the DCON Wolfpack, another Shirahama X DHP collaboration runs wild. Soft pink vinyl with pink, red, gold, tan, lavender and dark purple paints. Available in the webshop on Valentine's Day (Feb 14th) and priced at $60 each.

PAUL KAIJU x DHP BUTTERCUP APALALA RAFFLE AND CRAWLAH APALALA RELEASE

Paul has finished up the Buttercup Apalala and they will all be sold via lottery. All the info is copy pasted below so be sure to read carefully

• Complete the online blog form that will go up on Sunday, January 20th at 8:00 AM PST, 12 hour raffle ends at 8:00 PM PST. Form will go up on Paul's site
• Winners will be drawn randomly from all entries, and notified within 4 days after raffle closing. Raffle entries not chosen will NOT be notified.

I held a small amount of the unpainted vinyl PK used on the Buttercup mentioned above and they will be released in conjunction with The Crawlah Club in the DHP web shop on January 26th. Eric was kind enough to lend his art for both a sticker and print for this release. The minty green opaque vinyl has green glitter embedded throughout. The Crawlah Apalala 5 x 7 print features colors that mimic the toy and the bonus sticker has been done as a wild unproduced colorway. The Crawlah Apalala comes with a matching Jizo-Anarcho OMAKE. Made in Japan. Not intended for children under 14 years old. $130 each.

THANKS FOR A GREAT 2018

Thank you everyone who supported DHP in some way during 2018. It was an awesome year and I hope 2019 is even better. As we all get ready for the countdown clock I wanted to make a few announcements on our way out.

1. A batch of Apalala just shipped out westward for what will no doubt be an amazing collaboration. A guest artist (UPDATE: Paul posted on IG...pic below) will be painting these mint green with green glitter vinyl base toys. I will most likely release a few blank unpainted ones on my website once the painted versions are ready. Stay tuned.
2. Apalala also will be joining the Crawlah Club. What is the Crawlah Club you ask? Well check out Eric's Facebook, Instagram and Webshop for all the details. Look for some stickers and maybe a microrun or two in the near future.
3. We didn't get to see the debut of Mara in 2018 but hopefully she makes an appearance soon. I am feeling good about 2019.
4. And finally...let's talk about the illustrious Japanese fight figure...the whole reason I got into the JP toy game to begin with! Sadly the good old days of the fink shit, Secret Base, Real Head and a few others are long gone. Well, as Dee Snider and the rest of the TS crew said, "we're not gonna take it"! Look for some big news from DHP in 2019!
