THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS

Ever since I was a teenager I have had a fascination with the darker side of the human psyche. I became infatuated with the story of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Today a new theatrical version of that story comes out and I am excited to see it.

At the risk of bordering on narcissism, the film release reminded me that about 17 years ago I wrote a concept album around the story of Through the Looking Glass while I was in the band AFTeRSHOCK. It summarizes the story by Lewis Carroll into 9 tracks. I decided to listen to it again today while I was at work and it actually still holds up pretty well if I do say so myself. If you are a fan of metal I encourage you to see for yourself. At $1.50 for a full length cd you will never find a better deal than here.

CHARRED...THE SECOND COMING OF THE NORDIC LEGION

It looks like we have tapped into a signature theme for DHP toy releases...The Nordic Legion. Release date info will appear HERE in a week or so. Until that time enjoy the info and images below.

As a follow up to the popular original release a few more Nordic Legion themed Alavaka will be making their way to the DHP webshop soon. This time it appears there was some sort of hemorrhage or clot that was resolved by flame. Stay tuned for details and release info.

A cold wind blows across the barren Norwegian countryside. The cackle of crows echoes through skeletal trees. Pale figures don robes of glass as their eyes and mouths recede into shadow. No words are uttered as crimson letters are scribed across the oath of the damned. Flames rise and subside. We are three. Clear vinyl with black, red, white and metalic red paints. Charred brown gemstone eyes. Comes with "heart" guts and stick bale accessory. Made in Japan. Not intended for children under 14 years old. Also includes a copy of The Plagues "Epidemic" cd which was Devils Head Records number fourteen. *NOTE: While The Plague was NOT a Norwegian black metal band you can hear cues to the original Nordic Legion in both their lyrics and music.

ALAVAKA WILL RISE AGAIN! AKA THE PINK FAN RELEASE

The molds have found their new home in Japan and a request for some new color pulls are in. It usually takes a bit of time so not sure when I will have them but at least I know they will come. YES! Hang tight...PINK is on the way!

A new and very experienced vendor in Japan has taken control of the DHP sofubi and his first pulls are amazing. A hot neon pink punches your eyeballs hard as hell...and yes...it has jet black glass eyes to boot...how cool is that? A painted version of this vinyl may be done sometime in the future but these unpainted versions will not be offered again.



You will need to prepay for this release and all you need to do is email devilsheadquartersmail@gmail.com by May 31st saying "I'm in!" along with your paypal email and an invoice will be sent. You will have until June 18th to pay the invoice and any payments received after that date will be refunded and the offer becomes null and void. I had the day off of work today and decided to paint up the final batch of Alavaka I had lying around. This is the last official release until I am able to transfer the molds to a new vendor in Japan. Hopefully once that happens I should get product at a more rapid pace than previously was the case. 03.05.15 SOLD OUT - THANK YOU!

These sold out in about a minute, crazy fast. I never know what the demand on a colorway will be until after it has been released and unfortunately I now know I could have done a run of 30+ on these. Just so people know I did not respond to ANY requests for a specific time on the release. I wanted it to be fair for everyone. I know it can be frustrating to have to sit and refresh waiting but it would have been the same scenario even if I did announce the time seeing that there was only 6 pieces to this release. I hope everyone understands and can still have fun with future releases of Alavaka. Everyone misses something at some point. We have ALL been there, including me.
